Dr. John D. Luker was born and raised in Springfield. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in Physiology, then continued his education at Northwestern University Dental School. Upon graduation in 1992, he completed a General Practice Residency at Great Lakes naval base at North Chicago VA Medical Center. Dr. Luker has been practicing dentistry in Springfield since his return in 1993.
Dr. Luker is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, the G.V. Black Dental Society and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is on the visiting faculty at Spear Institution, a leading institution of dentistry and oral health care teaching dentists how to improve their skills and care.
Dr. Luker and his wife, Kristin are blessed with seven children: two girls and five boys. They enjoy golf, travel, reading, gardening and helping with their children’s many sports teams and activities.
Dr. Ashley Nowdomski was born and raised on the south-side of Chicago. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside where she played collegiate softball while obtaining her Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Nowdomski then continued her education at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. While attending SIU-SDM, she was the American Student Dental Association Chapter President, was recognized for outstanding achievement in Operative Dentistry and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. She continued her involvement with organized dentistry by becoming a member of the American Dental Association and the local dental society. Dr. Nowdomski practiced in St. Louis, Missouri before deciding to settle down in Central Illinois.
She takes pride in delivering excellent general dental care in her community and also takes great joy in traveling on dental mission trips to bring dental care to communities in need. Dr. Nowdomski is not only driven by a passion to ensure her patients are healthy, but also enjoys connecting with her patients and providing a comfortable and caring dental experience. When not practicing dentistry, her interests include discovering new restaurants, cooking, playing piano and spending time with family and friends.
Alina, Maddie and Nikki make up our hygiene department. Their goal is to help our patients keep their teeth for a lifetime. Along with providing treatments, they educate patients about good oral hygiene, including how to take care of their teeth on a daily basis and how often to get checkups. They work with Dr. Luker to help provide excellent care to everyone whom they serve.
Katie has been Dr. Luker’s chairside assistant for 22 years. She provides a familiar and calming presence for our patients. She uses her experience and expertise to anticipate needs during procedures, resulting in optimal care and results.
Kim-our "jack-of-all-trades" has been in dental assisting for over 10 years . She works in all phases of the office. From our in-house lab, chairside, or helping at the reception desk, she is a great asset to our office.
